ByteDance Won't Sell TikTok, A Shutdown is Imminent

Last Wednesday, Joe Biden signed the bill that forced ByteDance to sell TikTok to the government. Should they disagree, the app will be shut down in the country.

The Chinese giant-tech company is reported to refuse the deal. TikTok accounts for a small share of ByteDance's total revenues and daily active users, so the parent would rather have the app shut down in the U.S. in a worst case scenario than sell it to a potential American buyer, as cited in Reuters.

An official statement is yet to come from ByteDance regarding its future in the U.S . But in a post in their own app, it’s said that they have no plan to sell TikTok, especially to America.
